How would you describe your solution in a few words?

KITRO aims to tackle the issue of food waste and low profit margins in the food & beverage (F&B) industry by providing users with a tool to measure and mitigate food waste. The goal is to measure and monitor food waste automatically in order to prevent food waste and optimize operational practices.

 

Using image processing and machine learning technologies KITRO is changing the way the food waste is managed and perceived. With the implementation of KITRO, restaurants will be provided with a tool to reduce food waste on all levels. The most obvious advantage is a reduction in food cost, disposal cost and wasted resources.

 

 

Who are your customers?

Hotels, Restaurants and Canteens. Typically we target companies operating in Switzerland, Germany Austria and France with more than 100 seats.

What are the environmental benefits of your solution?

We can reduce the avoidable food waste in commercial kitchens by up to 60%. Additionally, this allows us to save other valuable resources that are collateral of food waste such as water, energy and land usage.

Our goal is to bring back the value of all food so that it is appreciated and not wasted.

How do you manage to exist on the market?

KITRO’s product is seamlessly integrated in existing workflows and does not require any additional training or effort for employees. This removes human error and allows customers to focus their time on their core business while benefitting from a higher accuracy in their food waste measurements.

 

Lastly, KITRO also differentiates its product through the level of services that come with the analysis, the impact driven purpose of the company as well as the Swiss quality of the engineering work.
